Yoga
Why Practice Yoga?
The word Yoga in Sanskrit means to join, yoke or coming together. The ancient practice that originates from India brings the mind, body and breath together, to be able to have peace of mind and be at one. Today in the West we can still work towards this goal, practising regularly has huge benefits to the mental and physical well being involving exercise of the body and relaxation of the mind.
New to Yoga?
Starting your Yoga journey can be exciting and maybe a little daunting, but Simone Yoga classes are welcoming, friendly and a great place to start practising Yoga. All are welcome, all ages, sizes, various flexibility and strengths. The classes are a time for you to benefit from the poses, breath work and relaxation.
What do I wear?
You can wear anything that is comfortable and allows you to move freely when doing Yoga poses. It’s best to have bare feet when practising but socks can be worn in the warm up and relaxing end part of class.
Do I need a Yoga mat?
If you have a Yoga mat please bring it with you. There are mats available if you do not have one but the number of mats is limited.
Do I need to bring Yoga equipment?
If you have a bolster, straps or blocks etc you are welcome to bring them with you to modify or adjust the poses. Although, in class they are not needed particularly and modifications to postures can be done without them.
Do I need to be flexible?
No, not at all. The postures can be done at any level of flexibility, strength and experience.
How will adjustments be done?
Adjustments to postures will be done with verbal and/or visual instruction. Hands on adjustments will not be done without prior agreement.
Will I be partnered with some one?
No, there are no partnered Yoga.
Do I need an empty tummy?
Yes, it is preferable to practice Yoga on an empty stomach, but if you need to eat before hand try to have a light snack with as much time before eating and practising Yoga.
Can I practice Yoga whilst pregnant?
Yes, you can as long as you and your health care professional have agreed practising Yoga is safe whilst pregnant.
Can I practice Yoga with an injury?
Yes, depending on the type of injury and as long as you and your health care professional have agreed practising Yoga is safe, modifications and props can be used too.
How do I pay for my class?
You can pay via bank transfer or cash at in person classes.

Massage
Why have an Indian head massage?
The calming massage allows you to unwind and helps to increase circulation, improve sleep, sooth nerve endings, enhance detoxification and helps with congested sinuses, earache, painful neck, shoulders and much more!
Can it be done over clothes?
Yes, the massage can be done over clothes but it is best to be done directly on the skin. Access to the shoulders, chest and upper arms are needed. A blanket or towel will be placed or you to keep you warm and comfortable.
Do I need to remove jewellery?
It's best to remove earrings and necklaces to avoid damaging them and allow the massage to seamlessly move across the chest, neck and ears.
Can I wear make up?
If possible avoid wearing make up as the massage does include the face. The massage can still be done with make up on.
Do I need clean hair?
No need for squeaky clean hair as a small amount of oil will be used on the hair and scalp.
What oil is used?
Organic massage oil to allow the movements to seamlessly flow from one to the other whist moisturising your skin.
Where are sessions?
The massage sessions are done at Simone’s home in East Grinstead, with a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere.
Do I sit up or lay down?
It can be done both ways but to allow full relaxation it is done laying down on the massage table.
Is there music?
Yes, whilst enjoying the massage you can listen to calming music to enhance your experience.
How do I pay for my class?
You can pay via bank transfer or cash at in person classes.
